Zvezda's Big Truck

Post by John Everett »

This is my first entry for the group build. It's been in the stack for six years now. Time to build it!

Despit Zvezda's fearsome reputation for bad models, this one is fitting together beautifully.
That's as far I was able to get this evening. But as you can see, it looks like something Bronco would produce.

Nice one John! :D

That's the old Zvezda items. In the recent years they seem to have moved some figure people to the 35th range (their Braille scale figures have a reputation for excellence) because the level of detail and engineering has risen extremely, see their recent Tiger I for example, or the Pak 36 that has better detail than the Dragon one... now if only they just went ahead and kicked out the old kits (several of which are positively horrible) it would really raise their reputation by a couple of kilometres  ...

You're right, Raoul. 2008 seems to have been a watershed year at Zvezda. Their kits after that date are much improved.

Parts and bits.

Some work from hotel rooms.

This is turning out to be a wonderful kit. Most of the parts click into place and sit quietly while waiting for glue. There are many places wher I wonder if glue is even needed. I like it so well that I'll plan to buy another copy at my next big show.

i quite like the old zvezda kits that is the soviet armour subjects as they make great kits to chop up into bits especially if you need a tracked vehicle chassie based on t ,72,80 running gear
and there cheap as chips and usually come with link n length tracks.
