Re: BM-21 Grad MRL
Nice choice Gary !
You've just got to love the whole BM series.. at it's heart it's still the BM-16 of the Guards Mortar formations in 1941...only by now in the 21st century .
Looking forward to the build!
Best regards
Raoul G. Kunz

Re: BM-21 Grad MRL
And off we go....
May as well start with the easy parts
Nice little cradle set up for the spare wheel is replicated in brass in the ET set....
Nice clear instructions - just a shame the side view isn't to scale....
First half done. The flat profile handle (C5) has been replaced with 10 amp fusewire...

Good Lord!
Just for clarity, my builds will NOT include these.

Re: BM-21 Grad MRL
Shawn - I feel the same when I see your figures
Talking of plastic (Philipp ), the 180 hp (130 kW) V-8 gasoline ZiL-375 engine and 5 speed manual transmission....
Not the greatest little engine TBH with lots of mould lines to clean up and some questionable fit of some parts, but a good base if one wished to super detail.
Chassis - pretty standard type rails etc....
All goes together without any issues....
I can't comment on the accuracy of the chassis and drivetrain, but everything fits fin - just lots of tedious parts clean up. Wish the sprue attachment points weren't so big and the styrene so soft
Important to test fit the wheels to ensure they all sit squarely on a flat surface due to the suspension not having specific locating pins etc...
