Told you so... .
Be thankful it's a 251 D with only 9 angled plates instead of the grand total of 19 of the C .
Best regards

Its about time. I hope you did not glue the floor down yet. I did it then could not get both sides of my walls attached. Thank god the attachment point for the floor did not hold a lot of glue.

Re: Sd.Kfz. 251, Pak 43 and an unhealthy dose of olive drab
Thanks gentlemen
Vincent - I'm afraid I stíll need to finish the M8 diorama, not to mention certain other things that have been neglected recently
Shawn - Thanks for the warning! I suspected that, so it's still separate. I intend to keep it that way until I fit the sides.
Didn't get much done recently, mostly because I need all the wheels and tracks finished to properly align the suspension arms. Especially the tracks might take a while.
A word of warning if you plan to get a Dragon 251 kit: They have removed almost everything that is not essential to the model itself. No more figures, no turned metal parts and especially no pre-cut "EZ" tracks that came with most of their 251s during the last few years. They only "mention" this by omitting the pictures on the side of the box and slightly changing the instructions. So please check what kind of kit you get before you buy a box full of disappointment, as I did. Definitely some very bad style by the lizard.

Re: Sd.Kfz. 251, Pak 43 and an unhealthy dose of olive drab
A little update - benches, seats, firewall:
Quite fascinating how cramped the interior space really is compared to outside dimensions.
Firewall details - no etch here, the figures will cover most of it anyway:
A question to those more knowledgeable in the secrets of the 251: Should I glue the firewall in place or should I wait until I fit the side panels
All together now:

Can't say. I've never built one. I would think that you would want to paint the interior surfaces of the firewall and complete the details across the dials and switches. All this will be much harder to reach if you put the sides in place.Philipp Gross wrote:

Re: Sd.Kfz. 251, Pak 43 and an unhealthy dose of olive drab
Sorry I missed your question Philipp.
I glued the firewall at this stage on both the 251's I have build. I felt it helped line up the side walls when it was time to attach them.

Thanks for the feedback!
This should make things easier - and the decals shouldn't be much of a problem as long as the upper half of the hull isn't added.
Knowing my current speed, this may take a while
