You want some pictures? Start here: Bundesarchiv

Then click on the Topicsearch tab at the top.

Then click on the plus (+) sign next to topic E in the Classification section on the left. (Zweiter Weltkrieg)

Then click on the + for the Ed section. (Truppen - und Formationsgeschichte)

Then the + for Ed 100/200. (Heer)

Then Ed 140 (Panzertruppen, Panzerabwehr)

Then Ed 143 (Panzer, Panzertypen)

Then Ed 143-10 (Panzerkampfwagen)

Then click on whichever one strikes your fancy, or, go back up and look through all of the stuff that you went by drilling down to specific types.

Also, from the front page you can just do a search without a keyword and set the date for something like 1941-1942 and you will get lots and lots of pictures.

If you find any you like and want larger versions you can register with the site to be able to download 800x600 copies for free.

If you win something, you usually get a Preis. If it's a shiny gilded metal thing it's a Trophäe. Beute however can be more accurately translated as loot. A Räuber carries away his Beute...

I don't think there's a German term for trophy wife...not even a compound word

Except of course if you're into BDSM as a sub....

Then of course Valkyries are psychopomps so it's the wife that means your death! (Remember Brünhild and Siegfried? How does that little affair end? Precisely: blood and death, and the world is set on fire...though the music is great...)
