The base will be quite big Raoul.
After watching you build all of this I didn't quite get the size of it in my mind. It'll be very eye catching when it's finished. Hope you have plenty of room

Yes it is and all in less than 4 months.

Thanks Vincent, Rob and Shawn!
Hope you have plenty of room
Thankfully I have three glass protected cupboards (one in a cupboard that I inherited, another is a glassed "Billy" and
a third was sourced from my in-laws when they moved and decided they didn't need the thing anymore
) and plenty of room in them after some restructuring (i.e.
putting somewhere else) of the contents
.
Yes it is and all in less than 4 months.
Gotta do
something with the time I'm currently busy wasting
.
Best regards

Good new everybody! I managed to shuffle (and that quickly) to my modelling table again!
It's time for a base (at long last....).
Supplies =>
Which after two and a half hours turned out looking like this =>
And it's projected to look something like this =>
Obligatory cats!

Good to see you back at the bench Raoul.
That is definitely two and a half hours well spent. The base is looking good.

Thanks Vincent!
Of course it didn't turn out quite as agreeable as it looked yesterday. I was fully expecting the clay to crack when drying and I'd thought I'd fill the cracks with trusty putty.
Well... what
I didn't expect though was for the base to curl up like a sleeping cat when the clay dried... I'm currently trying to straighten it out, though I feel I will have to put it in a frame to mask the warp
.
Ah the joys of doing stuff you've never done before
.

Hi Raoul
is that normal behaviour for air dried clay?
Sounds a little odd!
Did I spy a Pz I A in the background
Making good progress there Raoul, it makes me think I need to do a base too
Nice one

Cracking is -
curling the base up isn't, that's more something that probably clay fixed on glue does...
And yes, it's an age old Dragon Panzer I Ausf. A. It won't be in any build but it's there as a placeholder for the Tristar IA for the clay Golem to throw...
Yepp, you read right - I have a "clay leftover" Golem with the proper inscription and and it will be used by a Rabbi donated by Philipp to throw a Panzer I straight out of the Jewish Ghetto in Prague in '38 in something of a fantasy/folk tradition based alternate history setting
.
And of course it's not particular detailed because it's just
animated Moldau-mud!
Best regards

This will be for all intents and purposes the best diorama ever
