Re: SdKfz. 251/7 Ausf. C two times at the crossroads
Nice work Raoul - the disparity between width of the bridging sections is very noticeable
The vehicle on the Right (AFV??) has bracket mounts just before the front plate. These had "D" rings mounted which is where "stuff" was hung off in reality.
Keep it coming

Re: SdKfz. 251/7 Ausf. C two times at the crossroads
Thanks Rob!
It's the AFVClub kit and it's fairly obvious that is has stowage fittings...except of course to me .
The bridge disparity (luckily) comes form the fact that the bridges are two different kind, the smaller DML item being marked with "16" and the wider AFVClub bridge being marked with "8".
I went ahead and tried out the uniform decals (a Shinsengumi item in this case) and boy was it fiddly! But it looks fairly good... in opinion... and of course it looks a bit better when it's just 50mm not 20cm .
I think a little wash should really bring out the detail .
Of course it's now that I realize that it's a SS pattern "gymnastiorka", I really need to do some research if those also came in the Heer camo patterns....

Re: SdKfz. 251/7 Ausf. C two times at the crossroads
Phew... "decaling" figures sure is some fiddly business -
I more or less finished (decals that is, of course kit, weapons and..err..head are still missing ) one figure, in this case it was just a gymnastiorka, thankfully nothing more complicated...like a Zeltbahn...
=>
...I also managed to do the whole Zeltbahn-equipped figure decal-wise...ho-rri-ble . A whole lot of weird angles and many necessary small, tiny and worse segments. Zeltbahns be cursed!
=>
And because I was already caught up with the splinter pattern decal sheet I went ahead and did one of the Hornet head's covered helmet, cutting out the appropriate 5 planes of camo decal. Turned out nicely I think and was way easier than the Zeltbahn
Also: thanks to Shawn's figure painting tutorial and the impression of Steve's recent head manufactory ( ) I managed to (mildly) improve my head painting skills... I hope .

Raoul, very well done
both head wise and decal wise too,
The decals are cracking and your head painting is really good, don't knock yourself, you are there in the Premier league, Raoul
as for a factory, that how it feels, sometimes with the GB, but it is also fun too,
All 12 heads are 3/4s done and 6 of the 12 figures are scribed and undercoated
2 horses primed too.
You are really making great progress, how many figures in total 7 or 8?
Nice work Raoul

Re: SdKfz. 251/7 Ausf. C two times at the crossroads
Thanks guys!
I (not entirely but it's getting very close) more or less finished the first figure (of 7...maybe more, I discovered another set of combat engineers I still had lying around...the number is 7 at least, the rest depends on my mood... ), sans his Panzerfaust which still has to be equipped with decals.

Final figure looks great, the decals looked very shiny to start with.

Thanks Chris!
Yepp, initially the decals looks really way too shiny but once dry they tarnish a bit and I gave them a coat of dull...err... coat (yeah that sounded really eloquent... ).
These are the figures I finished so far.
In the background is another resin officer and not currently visible is a further half finished "map-contemplator" again with splinter camo. It should also be noted that the one bloke who doesn't have a regular splinter pattern camo is the (as of now) highest ranking officer who has parka of posh Italian pattern camouflage fabric .
Ingredients so far include 4 hornet heads (two of them re-sculpted to wear Heer pattern visored caps in engineer Waffenfarbe by the simple act of shaving off the SS Totenkopf and adding Heer cap decals), a whole load of automatic and semi-automatic weapons from the MB German gun set (MP-40, StG-44, G-43, a P-08 in it's case), straps from lead foil, a RB turned aluminium Panzerfaust 60 as well as (rather obviously) Shinsengumi decals (Heer type splinter pattern, Luftwaffe splinter pattern and Italian pattern, try to figure out which figures have LW camo and which have Heer pattern ) and a Reality in Scale map.

Thanks Steve!
When I finished the Mantis resin officer he reminded me of something for the whole time.
The eventual realization just what it was thatw as rattling on the shutters of my recollection it was somewhat... embarrassing .
Of course if was the late Raúl Juliá as M. Bison in the gloriously trashy Street Fighter film from '94.
=>
And here is everyone as of now.
=>
And three of them arranged as they will probably be in the diorama eventually.
=>
Best regards
Raoul G. Kunz who would like to encourage you to give your best for the pax bisonica!
