Hi guys:)
Am going to make a diorama of the attached photo and am searching for any info about this halftrack. Can anyone tell me which kit would be best to use? (scale 1/35) and also am trying to find the complete unit number that was painted on its back doors..

Hi Yngve,

good to see you back at the bench again! :)

The vehicle in question is a Sd.Kfz. 250/1 Neue Ausführung, which is only made by Dragon: Either as a (mostly) new smart kit new smart kit or as a not really bad "dumb" kit.

As for the number, Bison Decals released a sheet with this vehicle a while ago and they gave it "339".

Rob, there is a picture of this same 1/2 track from the rear end. It's a good photo of the rear, down side is the door is open and there is a couple bodies that are stuffed into the opening. You will have to do a google image search, but it will show up. This 1/2 track was part of a convoy trying to bust out of Berlin. The Soviets would not have any of it and whipped the convoy out. The is a pretty extensive article on the internet about this convoy with a lot of photos, which is where I saw the photo mentioned above.
