About time we had a re-tooled Chieftain.
Also, a decent T-54 wouldn't go amiss.

Jadar Hobby are releasing a resin kit in 1/35 under the '5 Star Models' moniker.

Yup Gary, you are correct, I saw the Jadar one. My view is that I'll just wait it out until a plastic one hit's the streets.

Heya, Philipp,

I hope that all is well!

Here are my suggestions in glorious 35th scale injection-molded plastic:

- Sherman Calliope (any model Sherman)
- LCM-6 landing craft (c'mon, Italeri!!)
- anything fielded by the LRDG or SAS that we have not seen kitted
- LVT-3, and late-model LVT(A)-4 /(A) 5, including "pot-bellied" Korean-war variant
- M29 Weasel
- International Harvester M2.5 USMC rocket truck
- M15A1 AA Halftrack (you out there, Dragon?)
- Saracen, Saxon, Humber pig armored cars
- short-wheel base Landrover and any N.I.-specific Landrovers
- South African Buffel wheeled APC (and anything else S. African! Bronco would be perfect as would Trumpeter)
- Centurion ARV (c'mon, AFV Club!)
- Navy PBR Mk. I (we've had the nice Tamiya MK II for years; how 'bout it, Tamiya?) and ANY other SEAL (e.g. MSSC) and Riverine/BWN craft
- Marine LVTE-1 engineer amtrac (c'mon, AFV Club!)
- Marine M51 (based on M103) tank retriever (how 'bout it, Dragon?)
- M53 SP gun
- M113 short-length bridgelayer (what say, Academy?)
- M54 five ton truck (most popular guntruck variant)
- Vietnam floating artillery platform for the M102 105mm gun
- NVA Type 63 amphibious tank (always wanted to model one'a these! What do you say, Trumpeter?)
- M8A1 tracked cargo tractor
- "Kelly's Heroes" "playset" with Sherman, Tiger I set and figures, of course! ;)
- more Allied Paper Panzers

And no doubt, there's many more! ;)

With Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

Well, the question is do we really NEED more models. I for sure would love seeing some more novelties and as a modern armor fan I'm quite satisfied by the current trend followed by the major companies. But my wallet is desperately telling me I don't need anymore boxes in my stash :D

Oh, and to answer the initial question, let some modern French stuff hit the shelves !!!

Heya, Oliver,

I can't argue with that... I know that I've modified my purchasing habits radically over the years --- I rarely buy kits unless the subject matter is something that I have utterly wanted for years. Cool thing is, many of my favorite subjects have been kitted over the years (T28, M3 75mm GMC, Composite Hull Sherman, Merkava IID, EBR-10, etc.). And speaking of French subjects, I'd love to see Italaeri take existing their LCVP and LCM molds maximized to turn out some 35th scale French Indochina Riverine craft as well.

Yep, like many, I've got more kits on the shelf than I have time left on The Clock... It is a battle between Want/Need, Wallet and Time....

And glad I could be of help, Shaun!! HA! ;) Now if we could only get a handful of these, I'd be very happy (and most likely broke!)

Given Dragon has released the Saladin, I've got my fingers tightly crossed for a couple'a Saracens, one with and without Reverse Flow Cooling; also, I saw that a 3D model company is developing an LVTE-1 conversion, which I would definitely have to save up for... I remember seeing the latter vehicle in the movies in both "The Boys in Company C" and of course, "Apocalypse Now"... And there are a number of existing kits that could be tweaked to provide some of the subjects listed.

We'll see what 2015 will bring...hopefully much time for our hobby.

Take care, amigos!

With Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

Hi Johnny

That is the most relevant way anyone has put ""The modeler's dilemma"" 8-)

I am definitely in that place, along with many of us here at PA, I think

Well said, Johnny ;)
