Next Group Build suggestions

Post by Gary Boxall »

Time to start thinking about another GB topic?

Seems to be some interest in a Half Track theme or Churchill tank based vehicles.

Feel free to chip in with some suggestions and a start date....

As I said before - the subjects should be something popular or else it wouldn't attract many people. I'd also like to see categories that include more than one type of vehicle for a bit of variety.

Some suggestions that were previously mentioned:
Sd.Kfz. 251
Churchill
Panzer IV and variants
KV
Panzer 38(t) and variants

A few more general ideas:
Towed Artillery, either with prime mover or diorama base
Halftracks in general
Self-propelled guns

As for the time, I'd like to have a 6 months group build followed by 6 months of "free for all". Knowing me I'll definitely need both.

What do you think :?:

I like a 6 month GB and 6 month free for all

As for subjects

Well I could go with the old favourites but I am open minded for a GB and another double selection would be good too ;)

Axis Allied, Modern WWII, Wheels tracks, Artillery AA, lorry 1/2 track, bicycle motor bike, you get the idea, either complementary or contrasting to keep the GB as open to as many of the forum as possible, but you will never please all the people all the time, sounds familiar

Bring it on

I suggested it before but I'll still throw it into the hat again, BTRs any model, any nation which gives a huge spectrum.

Failing that how about recovery vehicles.

I see folks are asking for at least 6 months to build then 6 months off. Why dont we just do a GB that last 1 year. For those folks who build fast you can get your GB done then move onto another project for the remaider of the time.

Lets face the facts how many folks completed the last GB in time and if I am not mistaken we had 7 months to do it.

Lets start now. :D I'm in between projects right now.

Topic- Let's do something were it does not matter what time period. Like AA platforms, Recon or Armour car type vehicles, Artillery etc.

If it is some time period related I am up for the 251 build.

More importanlty when we start this new GB is it going to be the same format as last time with all the builds in one blog or are we going to do separate blogs to make it easier to follow???

I'd like to join in with the 251 crowd because this vehicle offer an almost unending variety: 23 variants and several of those available in more than one of the 4 Ausführungen A-D.
Maybe Churchills for the allied option? Alternatively in keeping with the topic the M2 and M3 half-tracks?

Best regards
