Cork is time consuming but unbeatable in appearance. Wait until you get to painting and the texture comes through. That's when it will really pay off.

I can actually take credit for this one. I have not seen any else construct one using these techniques. I over shape of the wall though, did come from picture I saw online.

You know you need some cork now Steve. :D

John- I can't wait to paint it, but first I have to get the wall finished and attached. I also need to find some pictures of a cobblestone road. I don't want to paint it grey like most of the roads I have done. Different tans and browns sound good to me. :D :D

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Sorry its taken more than a year to respond.

For those of you who read my post in introductions, I have really been having a hard time getting motivated to build anything. But I recently saw a great video on painting brink buildings and wanted to give it a go so here are the results which I must say I am very please.

Link to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKtmt-zzUHo

Basically to paint the brink, you use a sponge. I did two things a little different than the video. I sprayed a base coat of Tamiya buff, because I wanted lighter grout lines. I am sure future weathering will darken them up. :D

Image

Instead of blotting the sponge I lightly rub it. I can't stress enough you have to lightly rub it. It took less than an hour to apply the base coat (not counting the different individual brinks I painted different colors). This is by far the easiest way I have found to paint bricks. For the roof I used different color Vallejo washes and worked with them until I got results I was happy with.

I can't make any promise on where this build is going. The whole story line is changing in my mind, so I may even have to change the name.

Thanks for looking Shawn

Looks like you're back in business :D

The sponge method seems to work really well. I need to try that some time.

Thanks alot Vincent and Philipp.

Time to add some wood work to the interior. Something I thought would take an hour or so turned into an all day project. I still have the wood floors to add.

I have actually been spending a good amount of time working on this.

Is it wrong that the floors in this build are nicer than what I have in my house? :D

Hard wood floors that have been stained.

That floor is beautiful :D

You really make me want to restart on that old Miniart building I have laying around since the early days of Modelarmour...
