Thanks Yngve! Just an attempt to make something useful with the leftovers

Re: Swamp Castle
Can't wait to see it come together Philipp. Looking forward to how the water comes out.
If it not to late take lots of pics with how you do the water.

Re: Swamp Castle
No turning back now, the turret sits on its base and the whole thing has been flooded with clear gloss acrylic paint as the first layer of probably quite a lot. I decided to use a cheaper acrylic paint first to prevent the expensive artifical water from seeping into the foam underneath. It's still a milky blue colour, but once dry it should be crystal clear. And yes, quite a lot of it did mysteriously disappear into the black abyss underneath the turret
I'll be adding shades of dark green and brown inbetween layers to simulate the murky swamp water. I hope it works as well as I imagine it

Re: Swamp Castle
I missed this one Philipp. sorry about that. What a great idea for a diorama and that figure really adds to the feel of the whole thing. Looking forward to seeing it develop.

Re: Swamp Castle
Thanks Rob!
Seems like someone pulled the plug overnight, all that was left of the 5mm layer of acrylics was a faint glossy shine. I've filled the gaps with white glue (dries transparent, I hope), I hope that stops the drainage.

Re: Swamp Castle
Just a quick update: In case you were wondering, I spent the last few days pouring thick white glue into the gaps in the base to prevent the more expensive stuff from running away to parts unknown. It really took me two applications per day with the proper drying time inbetween to get them all closed. I think I might have accidentially created a black hole there
A new fill of clear acrylics is drying right now, hopefully we'll see the results tomorrow.

Re: Swamp Castle
A quick update on the status of things:
Seems like both white glue and the clear acrylics take ages to dry and won't become very much transparent once a critical mass is reached. I'll need to do some careful painting with dark green and brown anyway to prepare the groundwork for further layers of "water". In any case, no need to worry about the mess, once finished the water will reach up to the lowest ladder step on the turret side.
