Park Staircase

Post by John Everett »

With the desert golfing scene complete, I'm ready to get on with the second smallish diorama planned to show at Columbus in August. My larger dioramas are unlikely to make the trip this year due to their size and the type of airplane I will have to use to get to Ohio.

To create a rough concrete surface with craft paint. (I've used this technique with portions of older dioramas.)

Or is that another surprise ;)

Great use of "non modeling" stuff to create a realistic look. Keep on the good work. ;)

Another great looking project John.

How much time do you spend in craft stores coming up with all these great things to use?

One more thing. You might be alittle lonely in Columbus in August. The show is in July this year. ;) 8-)

Shawn

Thanks for the reminder, Shawn. It's been in August the last few years. I forgot about this one being late July. I'll have to look at the bid pack next month and see how it goes.

Static grass was applied directly on to the wet latex caulk. You can make it sticker by lightly spraying the latex with water which thins the surface slightly.

You can go back and use PVA on top of the latex if you miss a spot. The latex caulk is essentially super-thick house paint. So it readily accepts any water based paint or glue.
