Thanks for dropping by!
Second half completed and colorful spots added in places.
Out of focus, but loose scatter added to stairs and sidewalk.

Re: Park Staircase
Hi John,
Superb photos, you really would not know they were a scale diorama
Did you use the electronic static grass dispenser to create the lawn/grassy areas?
which blend of static grass length and season or just a mix of anything?
Is the loose scatter, herbs or purchased scenic material?
Just when you think things are coasting, something arrives which is just spectacular
Exceptional work

Were the spots airbrushed, and filtered to blend?John Everett wrote:Second half completed and colorful spots added in places.

The "lawn" was installed with several colors of off the shelf model railroad static grass (Woodland Scenics and some sort of war-game product) . I used my static basket converted from an electric fly swatter to get the fibers to stand vertically in the layer of wet latex caulk. (The latex was made stickier with a fine spray of water to thin the surface.) I like to put down a heavy base of yellow and brown grass fiber first. I've found that "lawns" look more natural when there's a lot of dead material under the lush green. On top of the brown/yellow was then added the greens.
The spots were not painted. Thus far there has been no paint applied to the "lawn". The color spots were made from the same static grass applied to drops of white glue on a sheet of aluminium foil (there's a picture in my last post). Once the grass fibers are standing upright in the glue drops, I hit them with some hairspray and then sprinkled some shredded foam of various bright colors (also from the railroad section).
Once the "foil clumps" dried, they were pulled from the foil and affixed with more white glue.
The scatter is just a collection of dead leaves and old, unused scenic materials from past projects. I take whatever remains on the bench after doing diorama scenics and keep it in a separate jar just for this type of "loose junk" scatter common to any outdoor setting.
The fields of grass I've seen with your Panzers look pretty nice. Are they ready made? If so, try doing something completely freehand, with bare spots and dead spots and lush, well watered spots.

Re: Park Staircase
Yes John
Ready made, but I am hoping to do something more original for my GB.
I have a static grass unit and a good range of static grass to use for a basic flat grassy plain with the wagon and figures walking across.
we will see how it works out
A long way from your staircase, but a first for me

Fantastic as usual!
And quite a coincidence - I had planned something vaguely similar, just a little larger...with a Tiger I of the 508th crunching over the steps
