John
Thanks for explaining how you print that stuff off. Do you just print it in regular paper or decal paper?

That was a bit of pure luck. But just like the discovery of penicillin, I plan to see if I can repeat the results.Rob Matthews wrote:John - astonishing work as ever. That peeling paint/plaster is amazing Photo-realistic How did you get that Flaking effect

The wall is cut from MDF and needed a concrete texture. I had mixed up a batch of my commonly used tile grout for a different section of the model and added too much water to the slightly stale batch in hopes of reviving it. The layer of "too thin" grout stuck well enough to the MDF but never really grabbed hold the way it was meant to. When I masked the wall to put down the static grass, the masking tape pulled away the grout layer in a flakey fashion. I was so happy with the accident that I used a large quantity of hairspray in hopes of holding everything together and prevent future peeling.
Ironically, one of the few occasions in which hair spray has been used to prevent rather than inflict paint chipping.
Decal paper. I buy it from Micro Mark. But there are other sellersShawn Ramsey wrote:Do you just print it in regular paper or decal paper?
