Using Tamyia Buff and spraying at an angle, stone work received a base coat. Tamyia earth was then use for the ground work.



Then using 10 different colors the individual stones were picked out. I tried keeping things on the building more of an over all tan color and the road and stone work around the drain more of a grayish tone. This is very subtle but I think it turned out nicely.

I decided to add a light winter white wash to the Scout car. I hope I did not make a mistake, time will tell . Anyways I applied a coat of hairspray and Tamiya white paint. The majority was removed and I applied a satin coat to seal everything in.





Next I did some work on the house. The roof has been painted in a red brown color. This was sealed with a gloss varnish and then I applied some oil paints to add some interest.





The door and window frames were painted in a light tan color. Raw umber oil paint was applied and most of it was removed using a brush and mineral spirits.

I still wonder if it is quicker to scratch build or a MiniArt building?

I'll bet it feels better to have built your own though!

Philipp- I am going to get this finished one way or another. The last build I finished was the Locust over two years ago.

Steve- I like the Minart houses and have built a few. I just wanted something different.

Spent the last several days on this one. Wanted to add some color so the shutters and gutters were painted blue. Most of the painting is done. Time to do some washes and weathering.



I started on the figures and as always I started on the faces. I thought they looked good until I took this picture. I have some more work to do on these. Time to put the new optivisor to the test.

You haven't lost your "eye" for faces, they do look as good as ever.

I am very jealous!

I have my brushes out and am working back up to faces with the FlakPanzer I interior, which currently looks awful!

Looks like you are back and have hit the ground sprinting!
