Avatar Trouble

Post by John Everett »

I can resize my avatar pictures to the 90 x 90 limit easily enough. But how do I get them down to the 6Kb limit? Even an old iPhone takes a picture at very high resolutions now.

John, if you resize your pic and use 72dpi, it should get in under the limit. The picture will look blurry at any kind of size, but, when displayed as an avatar they look fine.

Microsnot Windows Live lets me select the number of pixels, but not the dots per inch (DPI). Even at a terrible resolution of 20 pixels per side, the file size remains up about 20k. :?: :?: :?: :?:

I've even gone in with Microsnot's Picture Manager software which allows data compression. But the smallest option is a 12.5k image for use with email. :x :?: :x

You look like a criminal. Remind me not to fly on your airline.

Ok John,

I think you need to step away from the glue bottle, go outside and get some air. So does heavy equipment manager mean pilot in the states, or did you change professions?

Regards,

Rod
