Time for an update

The heads are almost there, some are better than others but using an arm's length with the Mk 1 eyeball, + specs for some of us

They are OK, still need to do lips and some glazes but I am happy to put them all up here for some feedback,
I know they are going in the right direction for what I am aiming for ;)

They will be the supporting players in something more armoured, I just haven't built all the Stug's yet

So the first 4 which will be the general staff in the Stug 0 testing ground

2 pasty pale staff officers a General and Colonel

2 junior officers

The split diorama with a Stug A, the cold wind first

as Non hornet heads the cold wind figures are really expressive and easy to paint too.
They do look miserable and cold, the close ups are brutal, I need to sharpen the eyes up and some more glazes to get that extra cold feel to the faces
The other 4 figures for the flip side of the diorama, the Barbarossa figures, tanned and cheery, as things were still, a big adventure, except the NCO

Still got teeth, lips and the hair to do, but I have to say the hornet hair cut figures are superb and such great expressions to paint, even I can't fudge them up ;)

A finally the escapees from the GB, the 2 Siberian guards, almost a Laurel and Hardy combo :D

I know I will not be painting figures for Alpine anytime soon, but I feel, taking the time, all of 2015  , to keep trying, has gotten me to a place, where I am happy with my efforts.

There is still some polishing to do before they are united with their bodies, but I am happy enough, and have a few extras bits to sort out,
now, I have seen the close ups  Damned camera

I hope you enjoy :?:

I should have the final shots in the following days, weeks, months?

more soon?

Nice, all of them!

The first two perfectly capture the typical look of any German official

Your figures are certainly stuff to be proud of Steve!
Also: close shooting with macros always makes one feel inadequate: your heads still look good, believe the neutral opinion! ;)

The heads are looking great Steve.

Your right the Cold Wind heads are really detailed for plastic.

Where have you been. We have not heard much form you over the last few days?

Early starts Shawn,

It somewhat suppresses your blogging and painting urges!

I spent 2 hours just painting 2 auburn heads and a blond last night :?

I seem to be using more glaze these days to do an almost wet on wet acrylic blend, but there are times you have to let it dry

It has been a long summer and the GB is almost there, but sadly not quite yet!

Once the current figures are finished, I will be starting my next project on Soldering PE for 2016 8-)

More soon?

Hopefully

I am hoping my 2016 project will spark things back into life 8-)

More soon? probably not for another 2 months

Good stuff Steve, wargames miniatures are a very different kettle of fish to paint, I think this is why I struggle with 35th figures

Keep this up and I'm send in you my 3000 Napoleonics to finish
