Thanks guys
I appreciate the comments,
John, the lines are raised on the hat, which makes it easier, and you can cut in the shadow on the bits you over paint
Shawn, the enlargement is from the smaller image using photo bucket editing, but I do need to try harder with th camera even if it is to get a better base image to enlarge from
Thanks Raoul, you figures are there too, and the 251's are cooking on gas
Now as my mentor said,
"You need to do it again and again!"
So more to come, 3 heads for the Pz III A GB,
The oil paint on my horse drawn wagon has dried
12 figures being scribed for the 2, 4, 6, 8 GB
and the Mr Surfacer has arrived from Hong Kong for the Stug III trail too.
The fridge freezer blew up in the night so I have that to replace today too,
so no pressure on my time at all

Re: Wet Origami & figure painting
Hi Shawn
Thanks, the wet palette is now consigned to the garage, pots are the way forward, once you have a good colour mix
I wanted a lighter base for the figures in the GB, but it really still doesn't look right yet, still too light
Head painting is still a "mood" based skill, and I don't seem to be back in the same "mood"
I know it is system based, but if you aren't feeling "creative" it just doesn't come together and look right
But with 2 horses, 12 figures and a wagon to ""fade to gray"", they will be calling me Steve Strange next
There is always something to do, whilst waiting for the head painting "mojo" to return
I can fully empathise with your recent comment about having done other figures after your Sd.Kfz 7, and they weren't as good
I am sat in that space
I even scribe figures at work in my lunch break , I have limited myself to 2 chapters of "Charley's War"
as there are only 10 books and I am 1/2 way through already
One day it will be a natural skill and achievable at any time, but "today is not that day, neither is tomorrow"
Now I am channeling G'Kar
Looking forward to your next episode on the SBS, Shawn
When the mood is right though
