My first figure

Post by Vincent Power »

I said I wasn't going to do a figure for the Scout Car build but I felt I just had to finish it.
Anyway, I watched a few videos and read a few articles before I was ready to start. I used Vallejo acrylics and after much trial and error, this is what I ended up with. I'm reasonably happy with it. The close-ups don't do it any justice unfortunately.

Boy, painting figures is really different from painting vehicles isn't it :?
Check out the Gallery to see him in the Scout Car Diorama.
Cheers,
Vincent

That is freaky! Am I seeing the horizontal lines of a 3D printer?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words. :D

John, it is a 3D figure produced by ReedOak. I bought it when I was in the middle of the Scout Car build, many months ago. Unfortunately, I wasn't comfortable trying to get rid of the horizontal lines so I just jumped in to the painting part. Perhaps a better primer would do the trick next time?

Cheers,
Vincent

First off Vincent that is some really impressive figure painting for it to be your first figure. :o :o

I have not bought any 3D figures yet but I have considered buying some from this same company. I am a little concerned now seeing those horizontal lines. Is that a come occurrence for 3D figures? Looks like it would require alot of clean up.
