Middle East Wars

Post by Mark Aldrich »

This is my niche. Usually what I build my models of. I have vast collections of pictures relating to the Middle East wars 1948 to present. If you ever need specific pictures or angles let me know and I can look and see what I have.

I don't know, Mark. Wars in the middle east, with US and Soviet supplied equipment?.......Not much to model there. It's been so quiet since 1948. How do find adequate material for your builds?

Just like "never before seen photographs" appear about WWII, there has been a slew of new books being put out about the IDF and the Middle East Wars. On Facebook there is AMPS Israel, Middle East Wars SIG (mine), and Military vehicles in Lebanon that always have some nice pictures. Some new some seen before. Plus I have a great friend that works at Latrun who has sent me some incredible Walk arounds. Helped me to create this little gem.

Thanks Rob,
It is a Syrian T-34/D-30. The Syrians and the Egyptians mounted the Russian 122mm D-30 guns onto T-34/85 hulls. The Egyptians did this with a sheet metal armored turret.

The Syrians opted for an opened turreted version....I have no photographic proof that they ever used a box shaped turret as Maquette released.
