Revell 66 Chevy Pickup

I'm back again with my latest project. :) This time I thought I'd tackle something a little different. My plans are to depict a partially stripped out vehicle, perhaps something you would find in a junkyard. I've been scouring the internet for inspiration and I'm ready to get on with it.
This is the kit I'm using.

I've made some changes to the interior. I've added the transmission tunnel and scratched a fuel tank for the back wall. I also decided to make some rubber mats for the floor.

I also took out the instruments and glove box lid from the dash. The pedals were placed on a small assembly so they sat more realistically. The door trims have been removed too.

Next up is the Pick Up bed itself. The real ones were made of wood so naturally I had to distress the panels a little :D

Lastly I made some drum brakes as I plan to leave off the front wheels. These are not 100% correct but they do have the "feel" of the real ones. You can see the kit wheel hub in the centre, to the left. I removed the front and rear sections to reduce the overall size of the piece to approximate the drum brake.

The final result is shown below after adding the hub and attachment bolts.

That's all for now. :)
Cheers,
Vincent

I'll let it sit for 24hours then start the painting process. :)

Hi guys,
I'm having a lot of fun with this one. :D I've put some time into the pickup bed by weathering the timber floor and chipping the metal sides. Nothing special to get to this point, just basic techniques and a heap of patience. ;)

The cab is next on the list.
Thanks for looking.

You got a real one in your garage and use some photoshop filters to make it look like a model. Just confess already :P
