Thanks for showing me that Rob, had not seen that build so just gonna drop mine in the bin now!...................... as that really puts mine to shame.

As to the printed parts, not impressed! will stick with the etch versions................ when I have retrieved mine from the bin.

Don't be daft

Having looked at lots of builds - many just stop mid-flow, and some spend a long time on the construction to good effect and then seemingly rush the paint job.

I'm kinda thinking mine is sitting there for my retirement

The anchor chain that the gent uses is worth checking out.

Sorry been very busy painting ...... um .......... ships the wargames stuff kinda took over with the painting of two Napoleonic fleets and some AWI English

1/144 is an unusual choice, unless its to accompany the LVT??????

definitely interesting though, was considering the 1/350 versions from Mirage....... but this could be a happy medium, agreed it does need some (lots) of AM though.

I finally remembered to get some photographs of how this one is progressing

The main bulk of the Bridge has been soldered, the lantern has been left open to fit the interior detail and paint, I may replace the guard rail as I used 0.2mm wire and it looks a little too thin.



And here is the first of the bridge mounted 20mm Oerlikons, these are a right royal pain to get to sit right.



Next up I have a large amount of fiddling to get the pipe rails shaped and fitted, then smaller details such as speaking tubes, lights, flag case etc etc

And some plastic admittedly there isn't much, the ventilation tubes, these need a lot of work age of the kit though sadly.



And as a change of pace I built one of the 16ft dinghys, lovely little thing and fun to build, it will add grab ropes through the eyelets when its had a coat of paint.





So that's where the Anemone is at present, little steps, this should ensure the project doesn't burn out, which so easily could being of this magnitude

Some constructive criticism: Stop making us all look like preschool kids with their first Airfix kit

- seriously: where all the bridge plastic parts unusable? - I mean that's totally possible given the kit's age but boy if this isn't the hardcore PE experience I don't know !
Are the bodies of the dingies resin? they certainly look the part but I wouldn't preclude a balsa wood body...
