Your welcome :D and don't use the airbrush issue as an excuse.

Which just goes to show that Old threads never die.........

I can't believe that my last post was Oct 14

I tried using a cotton bud to "dab" the paint on for the dappled camouflage pattern. More predictable than an airbrush and after a Filter should be acceptable

I'm going to finish these - thought perhaps this thread would be better suited in "Shelf Queens"

Great work with the dots - looks fancy yet perfectly believable :D

Diolch Philipp.

The build time on these subs is small leaving more time to weather. They provide good "training" exercises.

Summary

ICM/Revell Type XXVII B Seehund: Exactly the same kit with parts supplied for either early or late versions. The late wears saddle tanks and has a different ruddder mechanism. The decals are more extensive in the Revell version including supplying the warterline markings that are absent in the ICM offering. Super little kit which builds very easily builds to an attractive offering, I really like the base supplied. The main omission is a "Clear" canopy. Using a 5mm "clear" lens from Little Cars http://www.modellingtools.co.uk/ is a simple and effective remedy

NH Detail - accessories: Come in the form of 2 sets - an etched rudder assembly for the late version and an etch "deck" both of which offer enhanced detail

Figure: Is from a CMK U-boat figure set. It really is very nicely moulded

Weathering: Mig Filters and oils. They Seehund provides a very convenient "palate" to experiment with weathering techniques. Industrial Earth and Faded UN white oils were used predominantly.

All in all - it was a fun little exercise

Thanks for looking

Rob

They turned out great Rob. Love the figure you have there.

Hopefully we will be seeing more things that float from you.
