Hey Michael, this looks fantastic. Seeing you jump in here with this is a lot of what made me get back in here in the forum. I will definitely be watching where you go with this.

Interesting to note that your 1/72 model is about the same length as the Trumpeter 1/48 Type VIIC Uboat!

Have you seen this? https://amp.rokket.biz/docs/u-boat_colo ... otos_5.pdf Thought it may be a useful reference for you.

Thanks Woody, I'm glad I could help with the mojo. I have had a look at a 1/48 scale U-Boat build on youtube. What a beast, I would love one. The cost of it renders it untouchable for me though.
That is a great link there. Wish I had known about it when I was building my 1/72 scale type VII U-Boat. Never mind maybe I'll get lucky and find another at a swap & sell.

I really love the depth of the charged humour here  !
Off course we really mast stop wreck-ing this thread with our silly puns!
It's practically keel-hauling the humour in this thread, we really should stop the trawling  !

...all right I'll stop it now...

Best regards

We must really stop submersing ourselves in this sea of bad humour...

So, back on track. Michael, i thought about one of the 1/48 Type VIIC U Boats too, till i saw it was $600. I don't have that to spend on a model anymore.

A chap is building one on Aussie Modeler http://forum.aussiemodeller.com.au/view ... =8&t=14375

To stop all this jocularity, I will show the rear end of this thing. At this stage though I cannot fit it to the hull as that will not allow me to work on it at the bench. There are a still the conning tower and dive planes to fit plus guns and bits and pieces. But that's a bit further down the harbour (sorry :P ) The stern is not overly detailed, just needed some vents drilled and some added to match the real thing.

You can see where my problem is with bench space. The stern is about 9" long.

That's it for now. I'm about to do something to the deck that I'm not to sure I should. Time and a few stiff Scotch's will see if the effort is worth it.

The stern is a model kit on its own! With all the crap on my workbench Iā€™d struggle to find space to build that, let alone the whole kit :D

Most impressive! :D

How will you display this once it's done? I'd mount it on a wall plate like a stuffed fish
