Type XXIII Submarine Beached

Post by Justin Wooding »

Hi chaps,

The annual model expo in Melbourne last weekend. There was some really fantastic models on display, but a Type XXIII submarine beached, abandoned and forgotten really took my fancy. I liked all the elements. Nice sized base and a great idea to display this model. The weathering and rusting was very nice and really effective. The figure with the bicycle is a nice touch and lends scale to the whole scene. A couple of sea birds and nest on the top lent a nice creative touch, the modeler even remembered to put bird poop below the nest. Nice attention to detail 8-)

Photos are not great as lighting in the building is just shy of shocking and don't do this justice. Hope you enjoy anyway :)

That s great! When I go to events like this there are tons of tanks on little bases, but a model like this makes me pause and look further.
