Very interesting and looks really fun to paint.

Whilst waiting for paint to finish the 25pdr, I thought it might be fun to do a little more to this bad boy!

The first thing to do was drill and pin the knee joints, this gave me the flexibility to get everything level, so starting with the central legs I began fixing them into their sockets, it was at this point I had to look at insects on the tinterweb to get the legs right when sat on the ground, I then moved to the rear legs, and finally the front, it was now that the flexible 'knees' came into their own and all six feet adjusted to sit on the deck



Then a dry fit of the abdomen and thorax



Next up was the head, I drilled and pinned it from behind, and then fitted the PE honeycomb pattern discs that form the eyes. with this assembled I could now get the backside into position, if you look back you will see I hinged this also, using this I raised it until it was high enough to counterbalance the front and give an aggressive and menacing position.



And the figure alongside to give you an idea how big this thing is becoming



I have an idea now to start adding details, there is a lot of this 'machine' that doesn't add up the legs and wings don't just move on their own just need to figure out how and where it would be most appropriate. And will take the form of hydraulic piston rods, and cabling.

fired up the soldering torch and formed the antennae, also 6 brackets that are intended for cable support.

Rob, I was going to try the Ammo crystal red over a silver base, there are glass cabochon that fit over the top to give an insectoid style eye.

For some reason this bad boy doesn't like being photographed!

Any updates on this beauty Vlad?
