Proud Dad
Warning! Proud dad boasting! My daughter won first place in the Junior competition at the Arborfield REME Museum Model Show over the weekend with her Italeri 1/72 RQ-1 Predator drone:
She actually built it last summer at the grand old age of 9. I told her what to do at each stage then let her get on with it. I did apply the rattle can paint for primer, gloss and matt varnishes, but she did the rest, including the filling and sanding, airbrushing, decal application and washes. She doesn't build too much but seems to enjoy it when she does!

Re: Proud Dad
Outstanding!
I wouldn't have guessed the builder as being nine years old.

Re: Proud Dad
Hi John, thanks! It was a very simple kit but she did a great job on the model and managed to build something I would have been happy with! We just need to figure out what she wants to build next.

Nice work Ian
Well coached but what is your daughters name?
and get her to sent in a PF
It is certainly worthy of being shared with the gang, even under your membership
Well done young lady

And I thoroughly agree with Steve.

Re: Proud Dad
Many thanks everyone -- I showed my daughter (Tatijana) this thread and she had a big smile!
Philipp, yeah, I remember my builds as a kid -- all glue and gaps!
I'll get round to taking some proper photos in the next week or so and submit them for a PF.
Thanks again everyone.
