Need a break from a bigger project so hoping for a quick OOB build.

This was bought as a postage filler from Hannants many years back. The parts count is less than 50, but I’m going to complicate things by using Alclad lacquer paints. I’ve not had good luck with these in the past.

I’ve still got a stash full of the damn things! When I got back in to modelling I started with planes. They’re often faster builds than armour as all the detail is in the cockpit. :D

I'm still afraid of the fact that you can't hide errors with mud. Or that there are perfectly smooth surfaces everywhere with tons of easily damaged details. Or that you need to paint stuff during assembly..... :? :lol:

As a kid I built over 100 aircraft of all types and scales, but for some reason I never worried about anything :lol:

Quite right Philipp and the fact that 1/72 is soooooo tiny. ;)

Building something different is a good way to get the mojo back Adam. :)

One night of steady building and a wee bit of brush painting and we are here;

I’ve polished all the seams with 12000 grit polishing cloths as Alclad doesn’t hide any errors!

The canopy is disappointing, thick, hazy and has some scratches on it. I really don’t want to vac form a new one to be closer to scale, and the canopy will be closed anyway, so out came the polishing clothes. I’ve also done the trick where you dip clear parts in Clear (AK Gauzy for me) and allow it to dry. I’ll see how we go! ;)

The Gauzy/Klear dip worked really well, canopy is crystal clear. Now that’s solved, on with the build. :D

Looking forward to seeing this turn out. I have only used MM Metalizers in the past and have had good luck with them.
