That blue will look spectacular over a chrome base. Did you mask with anything special? I always have trouble with little bits of color seeping under the edge.

Re: Wingy thing on my bench...
Thanks guys.
It's nice to be modelling again
and then masking tape to prevent overspray.
This Alcald is pretty resilient stuff. I normally have issue with lifting paint when removing tape but no troubles here.
In natural light, the difference in shades and colour really stands out.

I normally use just plain making tape and have had issues with seepage as well. This time I used tamiya tape and it worked a treat. I just did the panels and tamiya using a toothpick to flatten the edgesJohn Everett wrote:That blue will look spectacular over a chrome base. Did you mask with anything special? Decals over compound curves are tough. Lots of Solvaset?
I love how you've photographed your airplane-on-a-stick with its nose pointed skyward and a cloud scattered background. $50 says you were making airplane noises when you took the pictures.

Real nice work so far Jurgs. That blue on the wing tanks is stunning! The decals look like they are going on fairly well. The decal stage is always my favourite

Sorry Jurgs, but take a look at the decal on the side of the aircraft, I think it may be upside down.

Re: Wingy thing on my bench...
Upside down and tilted stars are a Canadian thing I guess, Canadian Army did not like the use of the Star as the allied vehicle marking in NWE, and many times they would be painted upside down or on a tilt just to show their disapproval,Justin Wooding wrote:Damn Rod, you have eyes like a hawk!
They thought it could be mistaken for a cross at distance they preferred the Red and white flash used in Italy. Ever since I learned that I tend to look at anything with a star on it to see if it is on strait.
