Greetings from L.A.!
Howdy, Folks!!
I'm a Model Armour straggler that Gary recently caught up with. Okay, what actually happened was: I woke up one morning screaming to find a 35th scale horses' head in my bed with a message: "Get over ta PlasticArmour.com...or else, Johnny!"
I enjoy all types of armor --- ooops, sorry, I meant "armour" --- modeling: WWII, Korea, Vietnam, African conflicts , IDF, OIF, etc. as well as sci fi subjects, and military boats (landing craft, Vietnam-era Riverine craft, and also engineering vehicles or anything amphibious)... My nine year old son is very much into cars, so I've been trying out car modeling with him and I am still looking for a place to put the tracks and turret!! My kid and I collaborated on an article about building models with kids, which we sold to Fine Scale Modeler last year. We've been waiting for the issue with article to hit the newsstands since.
Of course, I have to fight the constant draw of electronics of all types to get my kid to sit down and work on a model --- oofah! But it is definitely worth the fight!!
Aside from kits, I enjoy building sci fi craft out of found objects and kit parts... Like many modelers I have far too many kits to build, far too many half built, and far too little time. to get it all done But I am trying!!
Given my schedule and being Dad (oh yeah, that...) I model at a sub-glacial pace and take forever to finish anything hobby related. Nonetheless, I spent the last month modeling like a mad man to complete the Masterpiece Models ASPB (Assual Support Patrol Boat) Riverine gunboat for a contest on March 1st, ValleyCon. Got it about 95% complete (fighting rain on multiple occasions), which prevented painting) and plan to finish it over the next week or two and then stick it on a diorama. I ended up taking a First prize at the show for another build, an Italeri WWII LCVP...
Anyway, that's the latest and greatest from L.A. --- happy ta be on board with the Plastic Armour family!!
With Regards and Aloha,
Johnny B.

Hello and welcome John, glad you found us, even if Gary did have to resort to Godfather type tactics.

Good to have you back Johnny!
Don't worry about building speed or subject or anything else. We certainly don't
