One of the three 1939 vintage Ju 52 still active with Swiss Ju-Air has crashed yesterday afternoon. There might be up to 20 fatalities. The plane itself has been completely destroyed.

Besides the enormous human tragedy, this is a huge loss for aviation history. There are very few genuine Ju 52 left in the world (most are post-war Spanish production), and even less that are still airworthy.
