As said before there's not much more to report....however I did end up at Maisy Battery, where you can take a 2 mile tour through a German artillery site using the excavated trench system. The whole site is still somewhat work in progress, but most of the area has been made accessible by now. Also, guns:
That's an ex-German 15cm sFH 18, converted by the Czechoslovakians to fire Soviet 152mm shells post-war. Three of them have been placed on the old gun platforms.
Today we went to Carentan, which wasn't shelled flat despite its reputation as little Stalingrad. Some nice old buildings but not much else, until you reach the little harbour:
And while you there, take a look at what is moored next to it:
This is the Dreknor, a fully seaworthy replica of the famous Gokstad ship.
1000 years of naval warfare in contrast...
I doubt there will be much to report tomorrow, which is our last day here. We'll head back home on Saturday morning.
