Jadotville

Post by Chris Smith »

I don't know how many of us have Netflix but I have just finished watching this and it is worth a watch. It's based on the true story of the Irish Armys first UN peacekeeping deployment and the five day siege of an Irish Company at the settlement of Jadotville.

Don't have Netflix, but the premise sounds quite interesting. I'll keep an eye open for that film if it comes out somewhere else.

I just watched it - quite impressive piece of work. The background can be a bit confusing if you're not familiar with the Congo crisis though.

As for the plot, imagine "Zulu" with automatic weapons...not that it would be a bad thing ;)

Someone should do a film about Dien Bien Phu in that style now....
