Halftrack fishing

Post by Philipp Gross »

Three days ago a Sd.Kfz. 250 in superb condition was pulled from a river in Poland. Quite an amazing find.

Have a look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rgUSm-EnTs

I saw stills from this recovery. I like the one shot of the valve cover which still showed a thin layer of oil sheen across its surface.

Any idea what they plan to do with it?

That is remarkable and  .........they have clearly used Mig Ammo's heavy chipping solution on it ;)

Regrattably I have no idea who did this and where it will end up. But it's probably in better hands than the mint condition Stug III that was pulled out of a bog in Russia 10 years ago and ended up rusting in the open.

On the FB page from the German Tank Museum when they ran this story they mentioned it was going to a museum in Poland.

You know, this could make for a great diorama. I have the old Dragon Neu kit, the one before the revised premium edition This could be a good way of using it
