A Megaton of Panzer Photos
....can be found on the account of Panzer DB on Flickr. Everything is well sorted according to subject, but diving right in is just as fun. Some new, some well known, but all fascinating. A few of my favourites:

Re: A Megaton of Panzer Photos
Hey Philipp, good picks!
The colour photo of the Pz.III is great. Colour photos really highlight how weathered and beaten WWII vehicles got. Black and white doesn't seem to show it up near as well.
I am intrigued with the Dicker Max though. I have the Dragon kit in the stash and browsing photos for research and inspiration i have only ever come across boring old grey coloured machines. Very intereted to see and vehicle in camoflauge and with kill markings on the barrel. Any speculation as to what the camoflauge colours might be? Base of grey with green or brown sprayed lines? Would be a great photo to get colourised!

Re: A Megaton of Panzer Photos
Thanks
I have the Trumpeter kit, half built for almost a decade, and this one photo might just make me finish it.
From what I found out, one of the two blew up during 1941 while the other got damaged and was sent back to Krupp for refurbishment. It was later lost in or near Stalingrad...which is probably when the photo was taken. A lot of Panzers in tropical colours ended up there (Southern Russia being rather dry during summer) and it might be possible that the Dicker Max as a valuable one-of-its-kind vehicle got special attention and received an improvised camo in a tropical scheme. It could be either the second standard scheme (sand yellow/greyish-brown) on Panzer grey or maybe just sand yellow with grey stripes on top....to be honest it's impossible to tell, but either of that would be my best guess. In any case it's not a factory scheme
