Over the last couple of years I have watched you guys replace figure heads with aftermarket resin offerings such as Hornet. However, no one has shown how they do it.

- How do you remove the figures existing head without damaging the body?

- How do you attach/mate up the resin head? Do you drill a hole for it or just glue it in place?

About to have a go with Hornet heads on some Tamiya figures that come with heads attached in the Vignette GB and looking not to screw it up!

Hi Adam

you hit the nail on the head

with drill a hole, open up carefully with a blade until it is open to the edge of the collar

Take the hornet head off it resin plug and pare,file, scrape the neck until it fits for depth and width.

Lots of trial fitting until it sits just right with the figure

You will also need to check if the head is a "good" size as the hornet heads have a little variety in size in each pack.

It is definity the way to go for expression and quality with heads

Thanks Steve, that's what I was looking to confirm. The Hornet heads have very long necks if you were just to glue them on direct! They are a big step up from the "constipated" looks my Tamiya donor figures have currently

Off the block and some undercutting of the jaw line

head and body united

a little blue tack in the hole to help settle the head properly

...but I'm an Orthopaedic Surgeon Woody, I cut up people and drill into them every day! Unfortunately if I cut their head off I get complaints....

They can't complain when their head is gone mate!
