Rod

Nice to see the Tasca Firefly reincarnated as Tamiya. Is that Easy 8 ex Tasca too?

Both have been reissued by Tamiya. I hope they continue....and I hope they show up in Germany too, for a reasonable price...

Hi Gary,

Yes both are ex Tasca/Auska, don't think Tasca/Auska sold the molds it's just a rebox like Tamiya has been doing with other Manufactures (Master Box, Italieri etc.).

Hi Philipp,

They are very reasonably priced on the Asia Online store sites, about $20.00 cheaper than the original Tasca price with Figures thrown in the kit. Hope the Distributor in Europe is better than the Canadian Distributor, my guess is they will be over a $100.00 on the shelf at the LHS after the Distributor gets his pound of flesh. It has gotten so that I don’t buy Tamiya kits at the LHS as I can usually pick up the kit and a photo etch set with shipping, and the post office charging me GST and their brokerage for less than just the kit itself at the LHS.

Regards,
Rod

Thanks for the info Rod. I haven't ordered anything overseas yet (except for a book from the UK  ), but if the prices and shipping rates are acceptable I might just try it ;)

Hi chaps,

If i may ask a question. Why are we piling all our new acquisitions in the one thread? Latest Additions is now a forum of its own.

When we had it in MA it was in the General Modeling forum. Maybe we are just still in the habit of putting it one thread? Just a trivial matter and of no great consequence, but i just had to ask :P

Woody. Just thought it'd be easier to find here. When there are more posts in the GM forum it tends to get buried.

Hi mate, yep, i totally understand. Just thought we maybe could do individual threads now for our purcahses? It would be a good oppurunity for the poster to give a brief report on what the first impression of the kit is in the box, a thumbs up or thumbs down of the item? Not a review as such, just a 'yeah this cool, or this is crap'.

Sometimes i would go back through the MA Latest Accquistions because i remembered someone bought something and i wanted to check it out again. Individual posts would be easier to find? I'm not saying get rid of the Latest Additions forum (it's great having a seperate forum), just suggesting we use the 'thread space' in the forum :P

Just my thoughts. Happy as it stands too :)
