Are they not all impulse buys Adam?

Picks these up a few weeks ago. The Vallejo Master scale book is outstanding and for $55 well worth it.

Some other goodies.

With the exception of the Stalingrad, bodi figures and helmets everything came from a model show.

The rest of these all came from a model show that I attended yesterday. Now they can sit in the stash. 8-)

That is one super serious shopping trip Shawn :o

And from a show too :o :o

No shows over in the UK, Yet!

Looks like a cracking FT-17 scenario is in your future.

The Kirill Kanaev FAQ figure painting book is like hens teeth to find over this side of the pond.

Every review I have read has been excellent and worth every penny/cent.

Looks like 18 months of retail therapy all in on go.

I am officially jealous

Yes it is Adam.

Steve- I have not had a chance to really look at the figure book but the first impression for me is it is not worth what it cost to buy it. Again maybe after I really look at it I may change my mind.

Apologies for my recent absence, but I actually managed to have my first proper outside-the-borders-vacation since 2019. I also found a tank museum where I went. More on that soon

In the meantime a few bits and pieces have arrived:

Image

My regular online shop had a clearance sale of these guys, and since I needed to order some paints anyway....yeah  They look impressive enough at first glance, when time permits I'll do a review of one or two. Pick your favourite

Image

And finally the new magnum opus on the T-34 which is currently all the rage on the Interwebs. I've barely scatched the surface since it arrived but the amount of content is breathtaking!

Our local version of eBay throws up another winner! As a kid I couldn’t afford Verlinden kits but my idol Shep Paine used them all the time. This kit is a monster resin kit in 1/15 scale. Scalemates suggests it was cast in 2000.

That is a monster Adam

Odd scale too?

Has the barrel survived being resin?

Is it going to be a stand alone display piece ?

Figures should be OK at 1/16

Have fun with the build

It’s massive Steve. The box has been opened and there is some foxing to the edge of the box, but everything is there still in their individual little ziploc bags. The barrel is a solid casting, not a hollow tube. I’ll need to drill it out, and therein lies the issue, the bore is massive and it will be very obvious there is no rifling….was wondering about some form of barrel insert to replicate it.

Just a thought Adam.

Very thin strips on very thin plastic card and use as a liner.

It was suggested as a way of adding the rifling on the Sturm Tiger but it wasn't a very tight rifling and did look reasonable too

HTH's?
