Well that looks like one mean lean fighting machine.
Great work on the camo Olivier. Did you do that freehand?

Re: AU-F1
Thanks a lot Shawn. Yes I always paint my camo freehand. I find it easier than cutting masks. I once tried some putty masking but the result was not great and the putty I used let some oily spots that were unpleasant to remove.Shawn Ramsey wrote:Well that looks like one mean lean fighting machine.

Re: AU-F1
No Woody, this is the Hobby Boss kit with a lot of modifications. You can see some of them on this post http://www.plasticarmour.com/phpBB3/vie ... =10&t=1043Justin Wooding wrote:Olivier, is this the Meng kit?
By the way, the best Meng kit is the Au-F1 TA one. The boxart shows it in UN white but you can paint it in the usual 3-tone camo as well. This one is the only accurate one fron the box. The original Au-F1 kit was a mix of versions and required some research to build it into an accurate model.

Thanks Olivier,
I actually didn't realise Hobbyboss did one of these

Re: AU-F1
It IS a good kit with some minor flaws. Nothing you can't fix with references. The main issue is Meng mixed up the early and intermediate versions of the SPG. So you can build any of these versions if you know which parts to use or let aside.Justin Wooding wrote:And, of course, i have the first kit Meng produced. Oh well
Be aware that for a intermediate one, you'll have to change the tracks and the sprockets. The interior is also a mix of versions but it's a bit more tricky to fix.

Re: AU-F1
Olivier - Very fine build and a Fabulous paint job as ever. The French colours really are very attractive. Always like the subtle weathering.
