I just want to get opinions from the group.
I'm thinking about entering an old diorama into the "Humor in Modelling" category. Grandmother's Quilt:
This dio has been in several contests over the years, including the IPMS Nats last year here in Colorado. But it has only ever won a medal at the regional level, never the national level.
Should I enter it, or would it be just another one of those things we recognise year after year?
Thanks in advance,
By the way, is anybody other than Parvis and myself going to this event?
John

Hey John,
I have always liked this diorama, think it is one of your best, and was glad to see in person at the Denver show.
Not sure what the rules are but if it hasn't place at a previous IPMS National don't see why you could not enter it.
I for one would not get tired of seeing it year after year, I think it's a great twist on an old story.
Regards,
Rod

In my humble opinion it would be ethical to enter it as many times as you like at Nationals until it wins at Nationals.
The judges may have a different set of standards and likes and dislikes this time and like what you have done with it.
It is a great diorama and it deserves at least one more shot at it.
Once it wins though I would not enter it again.

Nats rules here say you can't enter a model into a comp if it has been previously placed at a past event. If it's the same there then go for it!

Who cares if it is ethical, it's cool and I'd love to see it in person, so, bring it!
Matt
PS. I looked at the rules, and it is the same as Gary said, as long as it didn't place in a previous National you are good to go. The rules, if you are interested, are here.
