Meng Whippet
Always room for another project, right?
Anyways, here's the Meng whippet built during the last few days. It's OOTB except for the asbestos wrapping around the exhausts, which was made with fine yarn soaked in superglue to keep it in place.
Overall fit was satisfying if not perfect and there are a lot of small gaps to tend to between the armour plates. Of course the original wasn't quite as polished as later tanks either. Fitting the cab onto the hull was somewhat of a challenge too, but I was able to press it into shape since the joints on the cab weren't fully hardened at that point yet.
Most likely I'll be doing a tank from the Russian Civil War since markings for a White vehicle are thankfully included on the decal sheet. Quite interestingly there are only two British tanks mentioned in the instructions, with the rest left for the modeller to figure out. I would have preferred a German Beute-Tank, but regrettably the German crosses on the sheet are slightly too small. Oh well, there's still the Takom kit....

Re: Meng Whippet
Looks like a very neat and tidy build Philipp -- you would never have guessed you had encounteredany issues.

Thank you Ian
The gaps between the plates can be closed with a careful application of thin glue.

Another build Philipp! You are a machine I don't know how you manage so many projects at once.
This is really nice so far and I'm looking forward to the paint.

I not going to wish that I had more free time cause I bet you would rather be working, but I would like to have more modeling time.Philipp Gross wrote:Thanks everyone

Re: Meng Whippet
It's nice to have a litle free time for a change but I definitely wouldn't mind being back to work. That contract is probably laying on someone's desk, waiting for a stamp and a signature....
As for the Whippet, no idea yet how soon I'm going to paint it...I'm slowly running out of storage space for WIP projects
