Ryefield & Tamiya Tiger I Dual.

Post by Edmund Forsythe »

Okay got to begin with the details . The latches are just plain lumps of plastic . Went digging into the stash and came up with some griffon PE . Here the practice results . Had a heck of a time holding those little bit to bend the latch . Then it dawn on me , super glue it to a piece of glass and all my problems are solve . Ok how does it look ? I do have padlocks to go with them . It's just they are too tiny . You know what they say practice make perfect . I probably will go insane if I'm not crazy yet . This is a Tamiya mid production tiger . There's too many details missing , now that I think about it there's a lot to do . Bad choice of a practice run .

Hi Edmund

PE for a tiger? Is the Rye Field needing PE already?

I use blue tack as a third hand but super glue to glass will work and you can take it off with a blade, Useful idea ;)

Will you PE all the build, skirts, mudguards, the full monty?

Could this be a duel blog with a Dragon initial tiger? or the new Dragon Bovington Tiger?

I hope you are going for a full build blog Edmund, you know you want to ;)

Nice one

This sir is the Tamiya mid production tiger . The Otto Carius one . Had to make room for the ryefield box . I felt bad for it , been sitting there for several years . So , me , myself and I decided fired one in , first one out . That way if I screw up I won't feel badly for myself . Besides ove been messing around with this for a while , got the zimmerit on .
The track hangers on the turret ., the bottom holders are missing , the tracks have little pegs that hold them on to the turret , but then they just hang in the air . So I have to make seven bottom holders . Oh my they are so tiny and I'm having a extreamly difficult time making those . Any suggestions , such as somebody makes them after market ?

Yes there a ton of them , I'm going crazy trying to figure which is which . Found one on tiger1.info but it's unclear how the bottom hanger is suppose to be . That also has all the shortcoming of the ryefield Tiger .
