What If IDF M12
This build started as a M40 What If. However, I ran into too many problems and the kit did a gainer into the trash can! I decided to try building it with it's predecessor and using the 2 Academy kits, had a really fun time building it.

Certainly looks strange enough to be real
Great work! How about a what-if IDF Panther next?

Re: What If IDF M12
Philipp,
I am sure you know this, but along with the Hummels, Jagdpanzer IVs, Panzer III & IVs, it has been reported but never proven that Syria also received some Panthers. I would have to do some research but I always liked the idea. Of course, it would have to be after I do my IDF Berge Hetzer to go along with my Hetzer.

Re: What If IDF M12
That Hetzer is really adorable!
Nope, never heard of Syrian Panthers...only one that was supposedly shipped to Indochina by the French to counter Chinese IS-2 tanks...and of the idea to "license" build Panthers for the IDF...
Some day I definitely want to dress up a Panther G or F with Leopard parts as a post-war German tank. Would have been a better option than the M47

That sounds neat! But I gotta disagree about the M47! I REALLY think we need a newly tooled one! I must have built over 6 of the Testor's ones since I started building! I LOVE that tank!!!

Gary,
I will hopefully remember to send the pictures when I get home.
Rob,
For all my modern Israeli armor I usually use Model Master Israeli Armor Sand/Gray 2138. They also make it in Acrylic I would have to go home to see the number. I had to use it after My centurion wheels were painted with the enamel and never dried.

Re: What If IDF M12
I've built the Italeri M47 (it's the same, right?) and I fully agree - considering the age of that thing it's basically perfect in every way. I have a second one in my stash too....Mark Aldrich wrote:That sounds neat! But I gotta disagree about the M47! I REALLY think we need a newly tooled one!
