The antenna looks really a but different.... and it could screen me from having to use the antenna as well

While the kit comes with a nice chain, blackened surface and all that, it's still is a bit...shiny and I could really think of no simple way to "rust" it. :?
So I simply replaced it with a pre blackened and completely naturally "pre rusted" ( ) chain by L.Z. Models which really is a perfectly nice item. :D =>

And here is how it looks applied (also: level 1 mud by Wilder's textured earth) =>

Looking good Raoul!

So this is where I am currently at -

Turret Seam was filled with Super glue and then filed down and polished...

Wheels and Track test fitted and then stripped down for prime coat with black Mr Surfacer

After painting the green... I found a couple of small faults that I missed! Mould Line on the front Fenders and some blob on the Turret.. These were sanded back and repainted.

Rubber was painted with AK Rubber and Tires paint

Image

Exhuast were painted with Vallejo Air Hull Red as the base, the spades were painted with Vallejo Gun metal and Flesh

Great work everyone! :D

Dave, I'm somewhat certain that mould line on the fenders is supposed to be a very fine weld seam. Oh well, let's just say that this particular tank was delivered extremely polished because the local commissar for armaments production came to visit

Next update on mine later today once I've completed both track runs.

Based on what I remember about the BT-7, those seams are suppose to be there on the front fenders....I can't verify as I am at work, but pretty certain. Other than that, looks great and good choice on the green.

Yes there would be a seam there, but not curved like how its on the plastic... Below its pretty straight

This BT-7 was pulled from a river a few years ago, so there might be a few pieces on it which aren't 100% original... :?

Meanwhile, my Model 1935 is more or less complete:

I've also decided on a little scene I want to do with it - eastern Poland, late September 1939. The Soviet tanker is from Miniart with a Tamiya head, the German is from Tamiya with an Alpine head.

Those fenders on that BT-5 don't look right....can't put my finger on it. Tamiya did the seam correctly.

Seams or not, the paint looks good, Dave.

I like the trick with the shovel blade. I thought it was real metal.

Another red setter Philipp! That would also add the obligatory red item  !

I went ahead with dusting, still obviously not finished but closer. I also dug up the beautiful base by Steve Reid, don't know if I'll use if for this but the size is right on ;) .
