Maybe it was a side effect of my recent ear trobles, but ever since the BT-7 kit arrived the box kept whispering my name....
So, let's have a fast build of a fast tank - here's the result of about 2 hours of building:
The damn thing just goes together like Lego.
Here's what I'll probably go for:
Supposedly this is Vilnius in 1944. I haven't decided yet if I'll leave the tracks on or off. Any idea how they would be secured to the track guards?
And don't worry, I'll continue with the Pak 36 along the way.

Philipp, I've heard that Tamiya kits can be assembled by shaking the box but for the kit to be able to identify their owners and actually call out your name is a magnificent step forward for the hobby
Good start on this one.
It's an interesting vehicle but I can't help with the method used to secure the tracks, sorry.
Cheers,
Vincent

I'm surprised that Tamiya haven't started to include the little Asian guy with the box to build it for you it yet...
Great start! Be watching this one for sure! What figure have you used?

Leather straps and the fuel tanks can be attached on the underside of the fenders.

Thanks for dropping by everyone
Dave, "Mr. Pointing Officer Guy" has been my scale reference for ages now, he's most likely not going to end up with the finished tank
He's from Miniart set
#35029.

Pointing excercises are an integral part of German officer training

Day 2, the hull is about 90% done now. Apologies about the lack of sharpness, literally the last cut of the day turned out to be a sacrifice to the modelling gods, which didn't help in keeping the camera steady
And here's everything brown down into subassemblies...as I said, it's just like Lego.

Looking very nice Philipp. Didn't fancy setting the two front wheels at an angle?

Thanks Gary!
I've considered it...in fact I'm still considering it, but it all depends on whether I fit the tracks or not...and wheter that's an easy option with the kit tracks, of which I'm not too sure right now.
Still some time left to think about that
