Re: Tamiya BT-7 Model 1937
Slowly getting closer to the end....
While the tanks in the photo back on page 1 are all well maintained, I imagine that the upper sides of the track guards would be well worn from loading up the tracks there. To get some moderate rust effects I tried something new: Rust and dark brown pigments mixed with water, then applied with a sponge. The good thing is, I can remove everything with no problems whatsoever if I don't like the result.
Also, I think I need yet another BT-7....found this picture, it just begs to be built

Based on what I've seen in all your reference pictures, did the Germans have any BT-7s WITH tracks?

Raoul made me aware that my previous posting was Number 666
Woe to you, Oh Earth and Sea, for he builds the kit with wrath, because he knows the time is short...
A little more dirt on the running gear, a dull coat and we're done.

Definately build that last one Philipp. It looks cool. Of course, you'll need the figures as well

Re: Tamiya BT-7 Model 1937
Thanks everyone
Dave, I'm not sure how common the use without tracks was for either Soviets or Germans, but I think it might not have been worth the effort in most cases.

Done!
I'm making a small vignette for it, but if I really use it will depend on how well it will turn out once it's done
Raoul, you may post yours now

Re: Tamiya BT-7 Model 1937
Okay, 'ere we go!
I will build this as a vehicle for 3rd mechanized corps during Barbarossa in '41. The reason for this choice are the strange air-recognition markings utilized by the 3rd mechanized corps in the Baltic military district (Baltic front once the war was on of course) applied to most of the cavalry tanks of the corps in case of a second campaign in Finland....and it looks as if it's the Berlin Operation in '45 - have a look=>
I will spare you the build details, let it suffice to say that the kit is glorious to build
The turret took something like 10 minutes =>
Current state of the build =>
Best regards
