So does Bronco ;) But I still haven't given up hope on making this a fast build :P

I went and ordered the BT-7 Model 1935 the instant I saw it for a 10€ discount...might try dismounted tracks on that one instead...

A quick update: A driver figure, from Zvezda's old halftrack crew set, with a leftover Dragon head I think. Of course I'll have to paint the fellow before I put on the top deck.

ok....but, but it needs to be a Russian tank with a Russian driver. Ok, I will get a shot of Vodka, I'll be better later.

Looks nice...

Would it make you feel better if I say that I'll build the Model 1935 with a Russian crew?

Still toiling on this thing right now, update will follow later tonight.

Except for some minor parts (and the tracks of course), construction is finished:

Since he'll be mostly invisible, I didn't try to go into much detail when painting the driver. I think he's sufficient for what you see afterwards:

He could be off worse, at least he has all his parts and isn't just a head on a stick

As you can see, the turret halves required a very small amount of putty, but this really isn't anything dramatic.

Aaaand we're done here:

Image

As you can see I fitted the tracks to the wheels, regrettably there wasn't really an option to use the kit tracks in the stowed position. I could have ordered the Bronco tracks, but that would have delayed the whole thing for a while.

Now let's see if I can start to get some paint on today :)

I told you it's a Fast Tank

Base coat of Dunkelgelb is on (man, that does look weird...). I had some airbrush problems and need to do some touchups, so please don't consider anything you see here final:

Basecoat finished, gloss coat and detail painting come next:

The base colour is a mixture of 50% Tamiya Dunkelgelb with 50% Tamiya Buff, highlights with pure Buff, shadows with extremely thin black.
