Re: Armour Repair Plant 206, abandoned T-54 model 1949
ok, the turret is wrapped up.
Infantry handles have been added, details on the inside of the hatch. You will also note that in this photo I added two small PE pieces under the handles. These match what is in the second reference photo. I have only seen these pieces on this T-54, to this date I have not seen them on any other T-54. I also had to retexture the turret in a few spots where I had either glued or sanded over the resin texture.
Back of the turret, with all the stowage loops and MG attachment points added along with an additional plastic part added. I also had to retexture a few places on the back side due to glued spots and sanding. Empty engine compartment up next.

Nice work Greg - looking forward to more updates.
I have a vested interest in following this as I'm planning on a Tiran 4 very shortly. Have you given any thought as to how you're going to modify the engine deck access hatch given it is different to the 55?

Gary....all removable engine hatches will be off....if I needed to make one I have a few choices in my T-54 parts box. The first one would be to copy the needed part from my Legends Productions T-54 set.

Here's my lastest update. The aim this weekend was to assemble the Celticwerks engine bay. In a chat with Steve, he pointed me to a Youtube video that Scratchmod posted that showed in detail how to prep the Tamiya hull and how to assemble the engine bay. This is a must view video.
The rear false plate of the Tamiya hull has to be removed. I scribbed and then used a razor saw to quickly remove it. I then glue the rear armour plate onto the hull. Once this modification was done, the bottom resin plate falls in place.
Bottom of the engine bay resting in the hull bottom post modification....this is the first test fit and fit like a dream.
All five resin engine bay parts glued together and resting in the Tamiya hull. It's just sitting there and not glued. I need to paint and weather it before gluing it in.
Tamiya hull top with engine cover plates removed....still need to work on this further.
Hull with fenders removed to match the photos. Everything to this point is just stilling on the hull bottom for the photo, I really like the Legends Spider wheels, really gives it that old school T-54 look.

Some work done on the front top hull. New conduit added, light changed over to T-54 standard, two fuel points removed and one readded to the correct location. Empty rail for soviet style saw added along with a number of bolts.

Modifed exhaust. Shortened and textured the armoured top portion to match the T-54. Also added a separator as was common on the T-54.

GReat job Greg. It's really interesting to see all the backdating.
It's weird no major company makes a correct T-54.
