KV-1 Ehkranami (Trumpeter)

Post by Greg Beckman »

KV-1 with screens and an old Warriors resin figure is my next project. I have built about 2 or 3 of these Trumpeter KV kits and I am always pleased when I start a Trumpy KV kit up as they are just so darn easy to put together as there engineering standard is high, very Tamiya like. I built this same KV variant years ago when Tamiya put it out. I can already see that this newer one is light years ahead of that old Tamiya kit, so I am very much looking forward to this build.

Nice one Greg! I fully agree with you on these kits....absolutely marvellous to put together and dirt cheap too. There's a reason this exists

The hull is mostly done. Just need to wrap up the fenders and chassis components and it will be on to the turret. Note spaced armor on the hull side and additional armour on the upper and lower hull front.

The Monster continues. Still a few things to complete before paint. I also found a turned barrel in my parts box.

Four days later and your almost done.

I really wish I had motivation like you do when it comes to building. 8-) I go days and days with out touching any thing.

Shawn.....it's because you build non-Russian stuff...

Some progress. Most of the weathering is complete. Need to dress up the towing cable and dust it some. I used the new Ammo metal wax(iron color) on the idlers and metal roadwheels as an experiment.....eee....a little too bright. I will dust them up some to take the shine down some.

Great job on the build Greg. I especially like the mud effect you have there. Really nice. :)

Cheers,
