Tamiya 6x6 Cargo Truck

Post by Vincent Power »

I started this kit as soon as I finished the Takom Whippet. I was looking for something simple to build OOB so I could get into some weathering. :D This Tamiya kit was definitely easy to put together. :) Sure, some of the details are simplified and could be improved on with aftermarket if you choose, but that's not what I wanted to do. I did fill the cargo bed with fuel drums from Tamiya accessory sets though. Unfortunately, I didn't take any in progress shots either. Sorry.

This is what I came up with.

I hope you like it. I've sent more pics to Philipp for the Gallery. Now I'm off to the bench for the next project. :)

Cheers,

Very nice work Vincent! Definite proof you don't need to rebuild half a kit with aftermarket to get a good result. :D

Logistics are a sorely overlooked subject, we should definitely build more "boring" stuff ;)

I'll get the photos uploaded ASAP.

Thanks Philipp, I'm glad you like it. :) One of the reasons I like Tamiya kits is that you can get a good result without having to use lots of aftermarket. Trucks and trailers do have a certain appeal I think, regardless of the era.
